Privacy and cookie policy
Last updated 29 August 2026
This policy explains what personal data Sownar Limited ("Sownar", "we") collects through sownargroup.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because there is not much to say: this is a marketing website with an enquiry form.
Who we are
Sownar Limited is a company registered in Nigeria, with its registered office at 14, Adebisi Ogunniyi Crescent, Lekki, Lagos State, Nigeria. You can contact us about this policy at business@sownargroup.com.
What we collect and why
Enquiries. When you send an enquiry through the form or by email we receive the details you give us: your name, company, country, the commodity you are interested in, and your message. We use this to reply to you and, if the conversation continues, to prepare a quotation. Enquiries are delivered to our business email and are kept for as long as we are in correspondence with you and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping.
Website analytics. With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, approximate location by country, device type). This helps us improve the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes data on Google's servers; you can read Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. We also use a cookieless, privacy-preserving analytics service provided by our hosting platform that does not identify individuals and does not require consent.
Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical information (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. This is retained briefly and is not used to identify you.
Cookies
We set no cookies until you make a choice on the cookie banner. If you accept, Google Analytics cookies are set. These are used only for analytics, not advertising. You can change your choice at any time from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
Legal basis
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR applies to you, we process enquiry data because it is necessary to respond to your request and to take steps before entering into a contract, and analytics data on the basis of your consent. In Nigeria we process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site and deliver email (our hosting platform, our email delivery provider and, with consent, Google Analytics), and with professional advisers or authorities where the law requires it.
International transfers
Our website and email providers may process data outside Nigeria, including in the European Union and the United States, under their standard contractual safeguards.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email business@sownargroup.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are in the EU or UK you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. The enquiry form is protected against automated abuse, and email addresses on the site are protected from automated harvesting.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
